Wortham Bowls Club

The Club’s History

The Wortham Bowls Club was formed in the 1920s by Reverend Fanning who allowed its members to play bowls on the Rectory Lawn. Successive rectors came and went until 1959 when the building was sold and the club moved to its current site on the Village Playing Fields on Long Green.

Plans for 2025

The Club now enter teams into three local bowls leagues and we continue to encourage new and experienced bowlers to join us on the green in the corner of the Wortham Playing Fields.  Experienced bowlers looking for competitive bowls or novices looking to 'give bowls at try' are equally welcome.
